Bilateral Trading : Bilateral contracts, has traditionally been the dominant market, and still it is in the country. Bilateral transactions means a transaction for exchange of energy (MWh) between a specified buyer and a specified seller directly or through a trading licensee from a specified point of injection and drawl. GITA Power provides solution for sale and purchase of power from CPPs, IPPs and State Utilities / Discoms on Intra Day, Day Ahead, Week Ahead and Month Ahead basis between buyers and sellers pan India.
REC : Launched in February 2011, Renewable Energy Certificate market facilitates transaction in environmental attributes. GITA Power facilitates Trading of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). The Renewable Energy (RE) generator can opt to get RECs against green attributes of their generation. These generators can sell RECs through the exchange. On the other hand, the obligated entities-distribution companies, captive plants and open access consumers may opt to purchase RECs to fulfil their Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO).
ESCerts : ESCerts are the tradable certificates under the Perform, Achieve, Trade (PAT) Scheme of Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), a market-based mechanism to incentivise energy efficiency in large energy-intensive industries. GITA Power facilitates trading of Energy Saving Certificates (ESCerts) and other services that serve the evolving needs of the power sector.
RPO : RPO is the obligation to purchase minimum quantum of Renewable Energy out of the total consumption by the ‘Obligated Entity’. Distribution Licensees, Open Access Consumers and Consumers owning Captive Power Plants are considered as Obligated entities. GITA Power facilitates and ensures compliance of Renewable Purchase Obligations.
Power Trading Through Exchange : CERC/SERC have been given the powers to grant trading licence vide inter-state trading license and intra-state trading license. The demand supply gap among various utilities during day and month provides opportunities for power trading. CTU/STUs have also defined detailed open access procedures to promote power trading operations. GPIPL is a member of IEX, PXIL ,HPX and IGX which helps in fulfilling the business requirement as a trader.
